Derby City Mustang Club 2010 Pony Trail
The tradition continues in 2010 as the Derby City Mustang Club sponsors our 6th annual Pony Trail on Friday, September 10 in conjunction with the September in the Park Mustang & All Ford Show.
Since we are unable to hold a track event this year, we have more time to get out on the roads and enjoy what the area has to offer. And, we are excited to incorporate a road rally into our drive this year. Each car will be given a list of questions to answer with clues seen along the drive. It will be helpful if each car has a passenger equipped with a pen! Prizes will be given at the end of the drive. Note that this will not be a timed event.
We will begin at the General Butler State Resort Park, travelling the Kentucky Scenic By-way along the Ohio river to Milton, KY where we will cross over into Madison, Indiana. Outside of town, we will head north driving along beautiful winding country back roads to Stream Cliff Farm near Commiskey, Indiana. The Farm has its own winery and consists of a tasting room, an herb garden, gift shops, a tearoom and a meditation garden for those who wish to speak with the gods about winning a first place award in the car show!
When we leave the farm, we will travel just a short distance before we go through one of Indiana’s historic covered bridges. Then, it’s back to downtown Madison for a cookout overlooking the Ohio river. Some of you may wish to linger in Madison for the afternoon to visit the quaint shops found in this historic town.
The Pony Trail is free but lunch will cost $9 per person inclusive. Registration will begin at 8 am Friday at the Park. A drivers’ meeting will be held at 8:45 and we will start our engines at 9 am sharp! Don’t be late! The Pony Trail will go on….Rain or Shine!
